Here are a couple of pics from the F.U.N Show. The first, from left to right is myself,north49guy and Catbert. The second pic is Mr,Coin Lover, his son and me again. All of these guys are top notch. I really enjoyed meeting them and talking with them.Catbert was on a mission and I think he was very happy with what he snagged, Mr. Coin Lover and his son (who by the way is one of the nicest kids I've ever met) grabbed a couple of great looking Buffalo nicks. The show was outstanding. There was so much material there that unless you were focused on what you wanted is was kind of overwhelming..I decided to expand on my MPC's and got a great deal on them. I added 24 notes.(pics later). Honest Abe was floating around but unfortunately I didn't think to get a pic. I didn't catch up with north49guy after our initial meeting so I don't know what he got yet. The exhibitions were cool. The "Over the Rainbow" Morgan Dollar display was outstanding. I sold bunch of my doubles so I left the show pretty happy with my MPC's and some $$$. Probably the first time I left a show with both. lol. My friend from Ohio sold a set of Walkers and was pleased with the price he got,As was I with what I sold. The dealers seemed to be paying asking price for most of what we had. As we moved around on our selling mission it became obvious not to jump on the first offer. There was even one dealer buying '08 Proof Silver Eagles for $120 !.All in all it was the best F.U.N. Show, out of the 6, that I've ever attended.............John
Thanks for the F.U.N. report. Would love to make it to that show one of these years. Looks like everyone had a great time. Thanks for posting the pictures.:thumb:
It was nice to meet you and Catbert! It was a great show. I picked up a nice Fifth Issue Fractional currency graded 64 (posted in the papermoney section). I also ended up picking up 2 canadian fractional currencys and a large 1923 $1 but all those three werent in the best condition, but a good deal. I also ended up getting some wheaties, including a nicely toned one that i found in one of the rolls and also some early 1900 nickels from canada. Overall I did pretty good and found some amazing deals.
dready - I was definitely on a mission, but I was also surprised to find a few tokens that I wanted along the way too. What a great show! I too enjoyed meeting fellow CoinTalkers and wished we would have seen more of this distinguished group. BTW - I was at the show in disguise hiding under a 2 week old beard. My wife insisted that she'd had enough and she resented kissing a brush! So, off it went last night. I will post some pics later of my 4 new pieces I got during my 3 days at the show.
I think we were all on missions there. It was so huge and so many people there one had to keep their focus.
It was too bad I missed you and your folks, Maybe next time. It's great that you got the fugio that you were after. Sounds to me like everyone had a good time.............................John
Killer pic ! You should have asked him to put his stovepipe hat on. lol. Sorry I missed you later in the day, would have been cool to see your goodies in hand.It was good meeting you and all of the other guys though.................................................John
Thanks for sharing the pics and the story dready. Hopefully if I ever make it to Florida it'll be during a F.U.N. show and I'll get to attend one. Sounds like a great time.
