Has anybody else ever noticed that the 1964 & 1968 pennies have extremely sharp details? Most of the pennies have very strong strikes... compared to other copper Lincolns they have sharper details... does anybody know why they have sharper details?
Actually it may be just you...the master dies were reworked in 1969 and so the Lincoln bust is much sharper. If you have a 68 and a 69 or later cent you can can see the difference This is for business strikes of course, proof coins are different.
I’ll take a picture later... it’s not a proof... at least I don’t think it is... because the obverse and reverse are almost completely black but the details are extremely sharp detailed
did you find those in circulation ?all my older cents well most of mine are now uncirculated RD 1959-1979 thanks to some nice c.r.h rolls. As the years get younger as long as the cents are struck on a early die there details change dermaticaly
