I was always fond of the grammar lesson on the posthumous Pius. The obverse is in the nominative while the reverse is dative. I bought mine at an Alexandria VA local coin store in 1992. I miss local coin stores but most today have no ancients and 'We Buy Gold' in letters larger than the name of the store.

...Is it just me, or does the first one, issued by Antoninus Pius, look like it might be a particularly well-preserved fourree? (The little dark pits, mostly on the obverse.) @Everett Guy, that wouldn't lessen the historical value at all, and probably wouldn't do much damage to the monetary value, especially as good as the example is. ...Still, hope I'm wrong....
That one was said "not cleaned" but obviously cleaned partially. I was wondering if maybe in the future cleaning off the dark parts might be a good thing, but I am not there homework wise yet. I am super happy to add them to the collection.
I came home from a family member's b day party and got on ebay...$30 for one and $50 for the other but I lost 15 auctions by out bid...the beer flows as good as the "I want that coin"...I didnt even realize it was same guy different images on the back. I was just going by the deal and condition of the coins
Mostly, Don't clean Anything! Too many of us here have had bad experiences with that. (Teacher, I Raise My Hand.) No, Really, leave that to people who know what they're doing. ...Unless someone can suggest something to soak it in, for only so long...?
Very nice coin. I am so intrigued by these coins, even thou I want to get good reputation coins like these, even the less graded ones are much like works of art. I cant believe most silver or us coin collectors are not into these coins. The more I learn, the more I want what I can find. I had no idea there was such a good market on them.
Yeah I wasnt sure if maybe a q-tip and some soap might clean the dark spots but I am more than happy with the coin the way it is. Each one I get has so much value in history, story..ect. to think of who might have owned, touched these coins and the designer and design is like the holy grail of collecting.
