Happy Friday! Came across this Lincoln and wanted to know if it fits the 1960 D/D VP-003 criteria? Also has the improper alloy mix woody appearance but the ear and hair has me confused. Is it PMD or some sort of die clash? Thanks for any help.
The 1960 D has well over 100 different RPMs. listed at coppercoins.com. So many that I looked at the first 10 and it could be # 008 which is also wexlers #117. SO I gave up. good luck Jim
Thank you...thank you...thank you. So many and with 30 to 40 years of circulation before I simply put it aside in the 90's has left alot of coun Mark's, washer loads and dryer probably has made it so difficult for me to discern PMD.
This is the first time I disagree with a moderator. The following is taken from coppercoins.com (It's RPM-008): Looking further on coppercoins.com I found this: The red arrows point to what I see being similar to the OP's coin. Just MHO
I should have included this on my above post but better late than never: This is the OP's coin. The red arrows point to the same places. It also shows on the first set of photos.
I don't have an answer to your question re the hair and ear. You should contact experts like @mikediamond; @Fred Weinberg; @JCro57; @Pete Apple; et al. I'd be interested in knowing what caused this.
