Yes, I was confused when I first collected middle eastern/arabic coins, but it doesn't take long to master arabic numerals.
Arabic coins can be a bit confusing with their numerals, especially when they use a combination of Western-style and Arabic numerals. This Algerian 5 centimes has AD dates in Western-style numerals on one side but the denomination with the Arabic 5 on the other. So at a first glance it looks like it's worth zero.
