My first gold coin why did I settle on this one well I paid $280 for it the $1 gold was $80, cheaper but the eagle was $250 more expensive so this one was just right. Bought it at my coin place don't trust buying one of these online. I guess it grades around Au 50-55 looks much more better in hand 20201021_231717.jpg 20201021_231730.jpg

yeah being "new" to gold, I felt safest going certified. Not sure I would buy gold uncert'd from any of the local dealers lol...

well they weighed it and did a gold acid test they both checked out and it looked authentic to me so I went for it. But your new to gold which i understand your certified gold choice and the coin place I'm talking about I've been a customer there for years so we both have trust for each other.

Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

My thoughts on gold coins is, buy them certified (and as close to spot as possible). While not 100% guaranteed, there is enough reasonable confidence that the coin is genuine, for the buyer, when it comes time to SELL, thus making for an easier ‘disposal‘ of the coin, by yourself or your heir(s).
