    The first paragraph has an error:

    “Over two millennia old, the token is one of three of the same design known to have been cast in gold,”

    then it corrects itself by correctly stating that it’s a minted (Struck) coin
    As far as I know the Romans never casted any gold coins, did they?

    This is likely just a colloquial phrase: I doubt anyone outside of coin collectors would understand/care about the difference between striking and casting a coin.
