Wondering if this is an RPM. From what I can see it is closer to the RPM-002 than the RPM-001. Or, I could be full of it... ~Rob
It looks like an RPM to me. But, it is a different die stage than what is shown on VV. If I had to guess RPM-001.
I have a 1977S . Here's some close-ups of coin. disregard the circled 7 , Mines even looks closed but it's reflection .
RPM #2 has the second obverse . http://varietyvista.com/12 Kennedy Halves/RPM Detail Pages/1971SRPM002.htm RPM #1 has the third obverse . http://varietyvista.com/12 Kennedy Halves/RPM Detail Pages/1971SRPM001.htm
I didn't know what all that meant with the comments and such... I got some of it. Just more information to further evaluate your coin. So fits with the RPM-002? ~Rob
Try to get a better closeup of that mint-mark . It's hard to tell with all that light on the field ....
I'll do my best. The overhead light seems to be causing the most glare but camera freaks out without the light. I tried to soften the other light sources but of course cannot do that to the overhead light without blocking the camera (ha ha ha). Kind of looks like it could be a die chip/gouge. Still kind of looks the the RPM... kinda. ~Rob
Your half dollar is the ODV-002 (weak R). I don't think you have the CONECA listed 71S RPM-002. Attached is a photo of the 71S RPM-002 in my collection.
