After completing your Morgan set, will you be trying to get an example of every VAM as the next challenge, or just identifying which VAMS are the coins you own?

Me? No, I am not a VAM hunter. It is just a fun thing to do to get incredibly familiar with each existing coin. It's amazing what you start to see.

Peace dollars are difficult to attribute because there are so many of them and most of them in the catalog are listed for minor cracks. Very few have doubling on the design, none have repunched mint marks. Going through the VAMWorld listings for 23-D is indeed a bit of a slog. What helps is learning the lingo. The specifications are written with fairly predictable text patterns you can learn after reading enough of them. You can then search the list for that, which might be easier. In some cases, you can enter search terms that will narrow things down for you, but I don't see how I'd do that with your coin.
