The phrase "no thanks" comes to mind as what can be said by me personally.

I think my collection will terminate December 31, 2020. I have been collecting since 1948 and have most of all I ever hoped to get. I would like to put my excess pieces to work and upgrade and/or fill a few holes. But, every time I open an album I can't make myself swap out a coin that I have had for so many years. If I stop getting stuff from the mint I may be able to do some upgrading.

I hope some mint employee somewhere reads this.

I guess they are scared now to put their insane price on this one.

I wonder if the mint has taken note of the outrageous TV coin show prices and are trying to capitalize on some of that?

These prices I must agree are ridiculous. I will certainly not be buying one, however I did get get a mail offer from Littleton Coin Company to get one for 20 dollars. Not sure it's exactly being honest, however.

Littleton has been around since forever and has probably been responsible for creating more new coin collectors than anyone...... You have to know how they market. They bring you in with a low cost unbelievable deal. But then each six weeks you will get coins in the mail from them that they hope you will purchase. And usually those coins are over priced. Just know that going in.

$105.00 for this years set, no way. I stopped buying proof sets in 2017 when they were half this much.

Yeah, I got mine way early at $63.25 and even then I wasn't happy it was that expensive. it was like $5 cheaper last year.

I can't imagine there will be many buyers of it above $100, heck, above $75 even.

I bet everyone on ebay is fixing their listings hahahahaha

I'm going to finish sets that I have in process for 2020 and quit getting any new US Mint stuff. I started buying from the US Mint in 1959. Done.

Yeah I really started collecting with their supplies and whatnot, I did buy a 2018 silver eagle which I believe was a little overpriced, but it was my first. The coin shipments I rarely bought from, however I liked a lot of the coins they sent me. Thankfully, I sent them an email asking them to cancel it and they did, it was getting expensive sending em back.

I posted this elsewhere but I'll duplicate it here. I calculated what the mint's charging for silver now.

At this rate, the US Mint is going to do severe damage to this hobby.

Three things jumped out at me when I made this spreadsheet:
    1. With spot silver at $25, the odds of breaking even on any of these items in my lifetime are slim (I'm 62).
    2. The silver ATB quarter proof set is actually the best bang for the buck, better than even the bullion ASE in BU.
    3. The silver proof set price, which struck me as the most egregious increase, is actually more reasonable than most of the others as far as price per ounce of silver is concerned.
