400x? If you can't see it with a 10x it doesn't exist. If you use 400x then every coin will have an error.

i put a reply on here a few days ago and I don't see it now. Anyway I'll reply here again . There is no way any error expert would say to send this coin in to them. Anyone can easily see from the photos that what the OP is calling a R is just a mark from the reeded edge of another coin banging into it. These bag marks are so common I can not believe another member has not told this info. to the OP.

The OP also posted this on another forum (What's it Worth). Your reply may be there. Based on his replies to other members, I doubt he will believe anything you say.

Shhhhh. Were here to ENCOURAGE new members, right? I'll bet he has a whole roll of these. I encourage him to send them ALL in for certification, express service with all the trimmings.

    The education will be invaluable . . . .

The right leg in the R in TRUST is angled and straight. In your image the "R" has the right leg curved downward. It does not appear to be the same R in TRUST. The lettering and the spacing of TRUST within IGWT do not seem to match the spacing and lettering you are seeing across the face. IMO. Could be wrong. Have you tried superimposing the TRUST in IGWT over the area in which you believe the lettering to be? Just a thought.

This is what makes me believe QuickMemo+_2020-10-13-13-18-56.png that it is what itt is what ive circled is the right leg of a very distinct R. Note the curvature of the well known

Without that I can see why one would think and I thought damage too but when I fallow the layout of the quarter I find remains of the old design. Not only that but I found another one with remains of an E in the same exact spot. Im just sayin look at yalls bicentennials if anybody finds what could be an R or an E like ive explaind ill buy it off you

Its destorted from the second correctly aligned strike in exactly the eay you would expect it to be if you had struck a chin over the R. Ican see it in my head but i would need computer graphics to prove it this shouldnt be hard to do.

Doubt you would be banned -
we're just trying to help you
    with your inquires about the
    coins you're finding in change
    or in roll searching.

    A basic understanding of the
    Minting Process would be of
    help in understanding what you
see, and what others here are
trying to tell you via education.

Off the top of my head, I would have
two very strong suggestions for you:

    1. There is absolutely no reason to use
    a 400X microscope. A magnifying
glass up to 15x or 20X is more than
sufficient to view and discover 99.5%
of the coins you're hoping to find.

    2. Please look up the word Pareidolia

The area you circled appears not to be raised as it should be. I believe every human being can be wrong from time to time... even the experts. When enough experts and well experienced coin collectors say its not what you think it is then I'd leave it at that. If I still think they're full of it I put it in a 2x2, mark it and keep it. Not gonna send anything off for certification unless I'm told I have something and it is recommended.
