I have a proof coin set from 2000 and the reverse of my Sacagawea coin has a weird rainbow coloration in the center... I’ll have a picture tomorrow... I thought it was oil from a person touching it but nobody (that I know of) touched it and there wasn’t a fingerprint... it has been like this ever since I got it... does anybody know why my coin is like this? Again the oily substance is only in 1 spot not across the coin... I used a microfiber cloth to try and get it off but it wouldn’t come off.
You should have waited to start this thread until you had the photos to go with it. It's pointless for anyone to give an opinion on something they can't see. Please don't start a new thread with the photos.
If it’s proof and I don’t touch it but I hold it and clean it with a microfiber cloth will it decrease the value?
They will tone in the sealed package as I have two sets extra and both are showing toning. I do store them properly. Even B.U. rolls direct from the Mint had problems with rinse spotting.
No kidding. Even though it may say so on the package you would normally be using this on a very large surface, like your vehicle. With such a large area you would not see it on the paints surface but really close inspection would show you it's there.
