Came accross this Bicentennial Quarter first glance noticed the R on his chin startet tlooking and was able to make out the rest of TRUST as well as the rim of a previous off center strike. What should I do with it?
Congratulations -- you have a normally-functioning human brain, which gives you a built-in talent for finding things hidden in visual clutter, whether they're really there or not. In this case, I'm pretty sure they're not. Welcome aboard!
When you upload a picture, move your curser to an area you want images to show up in your thread and then click on the "large image" bubble. This will put the images into your post and allow better viewing of the pictures. ~Rob
I have up to 400x magnification and can make out distinct die characteristics whithin the R on the chin that has doubling strait west on the R on his chin.
Believe it or not, you're better off with some magnification but not a lot. Upload the pictures and then click the "large image" bubble and put them into the body of your post. This will allow "zooming" in to the pictures for better visualization. Too much magnification causes distortion and/or loses appreciation for the overall viewing of the area. I've learned the hard way, believe you, me. ~Rob
3 posts across the forums all the same. Also from one of your posts in What's it worth? I don't believe Dr Wiles from Variety Vista would request you send this piece as a discovery coin. Paste his reply here
Still waiting to see the reply from Dr Wiles. If it is a dropped R as discussed by others then you should pay the money to have it attributed
I'm still conversating with him by email when we come to a conclusion I will post. I would like to say somebody made a comment about the letters being spread out or altered and that's a good point because if you look they're spread out in exactly the places you would expect them to be if what I claim to of occurred has occurred
While im waitin on e-mails lets say for instance that a bicentennial quarter was found that just so happened to acquire the features in which I've laid out in roughly a state of au55 does anyone have an idea if something like that would hold value
I'm totally with Corgi on this one. It needs to be sent in. Nothing risked, nothing gained, I always say . . . Z
