Help with Identifying

    Interesting coin that was part of a lot. Is 1288 the date?

    This is a "falus" from Morocco.

    Whenever you see the Seal of Solomon on a coin, that narrows it down to Morocco or Israel.

    1288 is the date - but that's the Islamic date. In the western calendar, that is 1871 AD.

    Yours is in pretty good condition, but these are quite common coins. Probably worth a couple of bucks.

    Here's one from 1289AH. Bought about 12 years ago for a few dollars. Morocco 4 Falus AH1289 = 1872.jpeg

    The one two and four fallus have identical designs but differ in size with each denomination

    Just thought I'd add that the Arabic inscription above the date is ضرب بفاس (duriba bi-Fas / "was struck at Fez").
