    bcuda El Ibérico loco

    I just picked up this one today.
    Dont know why but now I have three of them.

    I guess it is because they are from my area of interest and the significant history behind them.

    Roman Occupation after 209 BC.
    Bare-head left
    (Scipio Africanus?)
    Horse standing right; palm tree
    behind. CNH Class XI, 282;
    SNG BM Spain 127-128; ACIP 609.

    Nice coins, bcuda. And that is a beautiful 1/10 stater, panzerman.

    Most of the coins shown are bronze. Panzerman and IanG each posted a gold example.

    @bcuda, thank you for expanding my horizons about the Iberio-Carthingian series generally. (Yep, just made that up.) It's only now registering how profoundly it represents a continuation of the Carthaginian series (big, fat air quotes: ) 'proper.'

    @Terence Cheesman, that tridrachm is why I'd collect more ancient, if I had the budget. Phenomenal example in every way.
