5.5. This is nearly a monster, by Jefferson standards. I collect Jeffs, and they don’t tone in the same way Morgans do. This one is an A+ toned Jeff. This one would sell BIG! Gorgeous pastel rainbows.

Since it is a Jefferson I'll go with 5.1.

@bruthajoe and @SensibleSal66, in this thread only one person posts at a time. Once the poster lets enough time pass, he/she gives their opinion and @ddddd does a summary and opens the floor for a new coin.

I love the blue toning but am disappointed in the non-true view photos. With that I can't see going higher than a 3.

Btw, I’m at 6 on my Jefferson. It is an Appalachian war nickel with 100% toning coverage with some of the most vibrant colors I have ever seen on a coin, including over 50% emerald green on the reverse. I bought it for $1400 and sold it for over $1K

Since the coin I commented on was deleted, I'm going to delete my comment as well.

@Morgandude11, you can post your coin, I just wanted to give my comments on mine before we moved on. The floor is yours, I’m actually intrigued by that blue monster!

I was tempted to go 6, but so many people on this thread think every coin has to look exactly like the Moose to be a 6. Paul, BOTH of those Jeffs are absolutely top of the scale in terms of utter monster toning. So, I think I will pass, and just leave it at that. The intrinsic problem we have here is that a toning scale we set up is both too rigid, and too exclusionary at the same time. So, know that your Jefferson is a monster. I know my toning, and so do you.

Don’t worry about, at least everyone on this thread understands that toning premiums exist.

Some don’t have a clue that there are $2,000 Jeffersons. I will post this anyway—the TruView does look like the coin. If people want to give it 3s, what do I care? I paid $75 last week, and just turned down an offer from a fellow collector for $500, as I want to keep it. It is a PR 66.
