unfortunately i dont know how india works either we will soon find out otherwise next time you come to nariman house please bring my coins with you
The problem might lie with the Indian customs, not with the US mint. I am not aware what the customs are like in India but in Australia, the authorities here have absolute rights to confiscate any bullion related and this includes jewelery, coins, currencies etc although it is rarely enforced or you were asking for kilos of gold bars to be shipped. It's a bit too early to blame the US mint or the UPS carrier for this at the moment.
I was going to tell you to ship them to me and then I'd send them to India, but I doubt I could get Fedex or customs to do anything either. Ruben
Under what Pretense? The Perth Mint ships thousands of pounds of bullion out of the country every day. They won't allow you to send into Australia ASE's? Ruben
yeah you are right we will need you to bring them in person do let me know whenever you visit ill have a bagful of coins delivered to you
If you have some of those hot smart Indian babes with the long lush brunette hair, olive skin and piercing black eyes, we might be able to make a deal, but before we go further, I'm telling you I need hot and cold running water, a flushing toilet with sewage treatment and a decent shower...non-negotiable. Ruben
yeah nariman house has all of those. also all the good hotels have that no problem as far as babes go i dont know where t find them they dont call me spock for nothing
The lead Actress was cute enough. They almost broke open into a full Ballywood Song and Dance number but thought better of it :0 Ruben
Spock that sucks. Sounds like you really need to hit customs. Find a way that we can get around things and us CT members will help out. I still wouldn't completely let the mint off the hook either or fedex. I would be going after all three of them. Keep us posted. Sorry you have to go through all this crap.
Funny as this might sound, i think this thread needs to be pinned with the title "Never mail coins, especially internationally and especially to India" even when u travel to india, it is advisable that u do not carry gold/silver/platinum coins... the authorities do not understand (rightly/unrightly) that is a hobby and will confiscate the coins..u might get away with a handful of old copper/brass coins but not the expensive stuff.. even though if u declare it and if this under the permissible value u have the right to import it, a lot of these things happen sorry to hear that spock, if u r religious man, i would suggest that u start praying (to god) and paying the "taxes" (to the right authorities) if u want to see those coins.. i will feel the pain..
