I know what you mean. I live in a Philly suburb, and most of my good finds had come not from the "big banks", but from a small single-teller bank hidden in a business park! Sometimes the smallest banks have the biggest rewards!

 

sorry for the newb questions but I'd appreciate clarification. So, I thought "radar" notes were those notes where the letter sequence before the serial numbers didn't match the letter sequence after the serial numbers? In the above notes, none of the beginning letters match the end letters, but I'm gathering these aren't radar notes/misprints? Also, I recently purchased Lindquist's standard guide to small size us paper money, this doesn't seem to note mules, is there a recommended source for these? Thanks for any input.

 

Don't mind the question at all

1st - when someone says radar they generally are referring to the numbers. If the letters match on both ends that is just a bonus.

2nd - None of these notes are radars

3rd - for example look at $1 1935 and 1935A Blue Seal Notes and I bet the book talks about mule notes. I know there are other references that list mules better but your book does list some of them.

what is the M-A note?

 

He means a note serial number that starts with "M" and ends with "A" .

A 1935 Silver Certificate with these letters and that is a mule note in CHCU condition could be worth $1500.
