Why would anybody in their right might want to collect coins from North Korea? It's one of the most rotten countries on the planet.

I got a couple from a ten-cent bin. North Korean coins, if I remember, have two variations on every coin. I believe they used stars(?)

If your coin had an extra star, it was minted to be given to a guest as a gift. So maybe your coin was once Dennis Rodman's

cant google right now, at an event.

JeffC Go explore something and think a happy thought!

I didn't get the connection at first, but then I remembered. Nope, Rodman got the gold proof set.

By your standard then all ancients have to be thrown out, colonial coins thrown out, South African, Australian, British, German, anything pre 2020 when new morality was designed and so on. So I guess what you really meant was why would anyone ever want to collect coins period if “morality” is your criteria
