Best TPG for varieties?

If I purchase a graded slab great but if they are not TPG I'm not going to waste the time or money I'll let my hiers do what they like. My own opinion, thanks for the post good luck with your decision.

 

You would be shocked at the number of coins sent by dealers and collectors who had no clue their coin was a $$$ variety. So it's your decision to possibly leave money on the table.

In general it depends on the variety and what premium there is. While ANACS and ICG may be better at identifying more varieties (many of which have no premium) on the big/bigger ones PCGS and NGC will sell for more than they would.

 

THAT is an issue, too- the resale value. These 1938-s cents come from a poorly described lot of coins on Ebay which included 8 of these 1938-s that are supposedly FS-501 or 502s. So I'm likely to sell some of them, and am balancing the probable better price a PCGS of NGC will bring, versus the fact that some of them are seemingly only nice "ordinary" 1938-s cents, and may not be worth slabbing.

Thanks, everyone, for the input! I think now that of the seven 1938-s I'm looking at, five are really 501s or 502s, and, being MS, ae worth submitting.
