I thought they catch these at the bank and sent them to the Federali? Anyway, this was abit of a surprise as I was counting out the cash.
You have to wonder that the note was somebodies saver, and got spent in a pinch. It is certainly unusual to find nearly 40 year old star notes.
If I found that, the people behind me in line would have thought that I was mentally challenged. Kidding, great find
Nice find. I think this might be a sign of the times, with the economy being poor...I'd imagine that a lot of people are being forced to spend some of the money they have collected to make bills. We should all be watching our change and wallets because you never know what you might find.
Was stumping on Star Note Survey and I did notice something; I think I have an unlisted Star Note, if i'm reading it right. B01907885* would be between Run B03 and B04, right?
Seems to be the case in this chart - Nice Star find. :thumb: I am sure Numbers will be along shortly to take a look
You and me both, I would have been trying to get the rest of the Twenties out of the machine to check the rest of them. Congrats OP.
Sigh.... Somehow or other, I've really got to find a way to make it clearer what that survey is about. The serial ranges listed in the table are the ones I'm looking for--they're the serial ranges that might not actually exist, and I'm trying to figure out which of them really do exist by verifying a note from each range. There are lots of serial numbers in between the ranges listed in the table, but there's no doubt that those serial numbers were actually printed, so for purposes of the survey I don't care about them. For some reason people keep thinking that the lists are supposed to cover all the notes printed in each series. I'm not sure how to get the message across any more clearly that that's not what these lists are for....
I work at a bank and when I go through our shipment for the vault or my own drawer I will send them to fed to be destroyed only if the are in really bad condition which is what we call "mute money". Otherwise I check it out and see if I want it and if I don't then pass it on to a customer. I hate to send them off to be destroyed.
