Can anyone give me some information and possible value of these two pennies that i found recently?

    83 - MD
88 - plating is split revealing the zinc core underneath.

Both are only worth face value.

    First, welcome to the neighborhood!

What makes you think they might be worth more than face value?

They are worth exactly one cent each. What you see is normal for copper coated Zinc Cents. The 1983 is mechanical doubling and the 1988, we'll you can see the zinc. Welcome to CT.

Thanks. Great to find a place to see so many great finds. I have no clue what is a find or what is a penny. I appreciate the clarification.

Just though the doubling meant something. Although condition is everything I guess.

Real doubling DOES mean something. Mechanical doubling, like yours, is worthless however.

Check out a couple of the doubled dies I found while searching rolls. You can see the difference between mine and yours.
