Then I received a trio of Copper UNA's. Dan's designs of these and the USNA Trade Dollars are really growing on me . . . . . . 2009 UNA 20 Amero - Liberty Winged Horse - mintage 328 2010 UNA 1 Amero - Native American / Puma - mintage 629 And in my opinions, the most beautiful (gotta love those 2014 Open House items with this design). 2011 UNA 1 Amero - Capped Liberty - mintage 379 The copper on this piece is really starting to tone nicely. Not your typical red-brown copper toning, but a really pretty orange-red color.
@ZoidMeister you posted one of my favorites (all of them are cool but that one is at the top of the list for me). This one I really liked when I saw it in a dealer's case at a show several years ago. the problem was that he was asking around $900 for it! It took over a year but I found one just as nice. His was Anacs graded while mine was raw (until I sent it to Anacs). The only difference is that I ended up spending nine times less (including grading). This is the eBay seller's photo (I need to eventually take my own photo):
Man, the toning on that one is INSANE . . . . . . ! It rivals most silver toning I have seen. Hope mine develops as nicely. All three of them have a really nice start, but a long way to go to get as nice as yours. Z
Yours is developing and I can see it getting better. I've also seen some people accelerate the toning on their Carr pieces (placing it in the sun/humid environment, wrapping in a paper napkin, and other methods). I'm not sure how people feel about that in general?
I can see that with silver pieces. Not much can go wrong with those. To me, copper is a lot more fragile. Green heebejeebies, black spots, the dreaded red-brown, all possibilities. You almost never see these kind of colors in copper. I'll let nature take it's course . . . . . Z
I had a few more come in this afternoon. Pretty interesting accumulation so far I think. There is still lots of stuff out there that I have gained an appreciation for and somehow, "needs to gets" . . . . . . Anyway, I'm really liking the sub-100 mintages on some of these . . . . . . 2014 So-Called Dollar Medal - 1st Annual Gathering - mintage 88 And HERE is my first Dan Carr "Owl" . . . . . 2018 Year Of The Dog / Lunar Calendar - mintage 48 And coming in at my lowest mintage piece to date . . . . . . . 2017 KOTCT Medal (10th Anniversary) 1oz Silver Antiqued - mintage 39
Not a Dan Carr piece, but all these 2018 KOTCT medals have really gotten me appreciating coins and tokens with the St. George and the Dragon motif's. Just thought I would post this one as well. It's pretty cool and a large piece. Coming in at 33.4mm, here is an 1850 One Penny Bank Token from the Bank of Upper Canada featuring St. George with what looks to be a sword in lieu of a broken spear . . . . . .
I JUST GOT MY SHIPPING NOTICE, MY FIRST SHIPPING NOTICE EVER, FROM MOONLIGHT MINT ONE HOUR AGO . . . . . . . WOO HOO! Let the ADULT BEVERAGES BEGIN . . . . . . . Wait, I'm still at work . . . . . . Z
Incoming is slowing down (thank God . . . . ) Only a couple arrived over the weekend and today. 2017 KOTCT Medal (10th Anniversary) 2007 American Silver Eagle Over Strike - mintage 60 . . . and . . . 2011 Hard Times - Debt Pyramid - Flying Pigs / Flying Monkeys - mintage 133

It's been a slow week for me here. I have LOT of stuff still in possession of the USPS. I have NO idea when they will get around to dumping it all on me. Only two pieces came in this week. I've bought a bit of new stuff. Y'all know who you are that I got it from . . . . . . Anyway, I love these Glendale Coin Club strikes. I hope to pick up a couple more sets from different years - mainly the copper / silver set. Z 2019 Glendale Coin Club Medal (silver) - mintage 140 2019 Glendale Coin Club Medal (copper) - mintage 179
