This thread made me remember the Wal Mart gift certificated I was given last week. I had forgotten all about it . Thanks
I agree with Shawn to be honest. It's not hurting you, or costing you anything to keep the coins. Be grateful for what you get. Phoenix
Would not bother me one bit - once given Jack can do with it what he wants and that is fine me. The same way I feel about the Morgans I have given my father over the last couple of years. It is theirs and if they get something that makes them even happier then that makes me happy. On the flip side I do agree with you - I would never complain about a numismatic gift and I agree label them as christmas 08 or even get a book and start another set that can be worked on over the years. So far my family has not bought me anything coin related - even though I have asked for books and supplies. This year was the closest I got - they gave me paypal gift certificate. So far - 2 coins and maybe another tomorrow.
People gave me money because they didn't know what else to get me. And I am happy that way. That money will be going in my "Fugio Fund"
I have an aunt who gave me something, I am not sure what. It is certainly shaped like a coin and in a nice little presentation case. But it is not a coin. Would I ever complain or discard it. Of course not. It is the thought and the person behind the thought which matter.
Hey, if I had a nephew named rohumpy, I wouldn't know what to get him either !!!! I agree with most of the other sentiments. I actually got three (yes 3) different kinds of after shave this year. Those unwanted coins you guys have are looking a lot better - but they don't smell as nice as I do......
