..it does lQQk like one(i think i see the initials JC on it)...heck, for 3.50..its worth having and pondering over
I could imagine I see a headdress like the Traveling Gnome’s Sabina's. I'm not saying it IS Sabina, but that's what came to mind when I saw the pointy top to that silhouette. Image source The bust just looks feminine to me, is all. .
Nice little enigma for three and a half bucks. Hey, ancient silver for under five bucks, who cares how slick it is, right? Shoot, I'll bet you've already gotten three and a half bucks' worth of fun out of it already.
i think Julius Ceasar is more likely than sabina, the angles of the headdress + face doesn't look like a match to Sabina + the face looks more like Ceasar
What is it?, What is it?, What is it?, What is it?, What is it?,...I think it is!, I think it is!, I think it is!, I think it is!, I think it is!, I think it is!, I think it is!, I think it is!,...I hope it is!, I hope it is!, I hope it is!, I hope it is!, I hope it is!, I hope it is!, I hope it is!, I hope it is!, I hope it is!,...It is!!!, It is!!!, It is!!!, It is!!!,...'er, no!
Well it came with a Domitian AS also, it was $3.50 for both + here is a cheap Augustus too, I got 40 of these for $8 a while ago or $0.20 ea.. so that's 3 of the 12 for under $4
You posted right-facing Sabinas. I imagine I see a left-facing portrait, with the nose to the left and the back of the head to the right.
Can you post the reverse as well? Also, weight and diameter might help to pin it down a bit more (though it's very worn).
