What do you think NGC graded this coin. I will let you know when i get enough input on this coin. MS grades only please Jazzcoins Joe
The obverse appears a bit weakly struck (although photo is also a bit blurry), but attractive toning and eye appeal. I would give it an MS-64*.
Joe, that's one beautiful Morgan buck, but you're going to have to do better on that blurry obverse, as without that you're asking us to assume a little too much, IMHO. Oh, what the hell, blurry hair detail and all, MS-66! Now don't make me look bad, I'm very sensitive.
We definitely need better pics of both side IMO, but certainly of the obverse. From what we have to go on my guess will be 64.
65 with a Star. Hard to tell from pictures. Does anyone think it's AT or is it just me. The green cranyon color seems unusual?
I will say MS64* just because you asked. I honestly can't grade the coin from those photos, but IMO in really makes no difference at all what the numerical grade is. Whether the coin is MS64, 65, or 66, it will drive a price of over $1,000 in an auction with proper photos. The reverse is stunning. For a piece like this, the luster becomes much more important than the surfaces. Without great luster, the colors appear flat and will lack the vibrant appearance that drives the high prices. Despite the poor quality of the photos, the luster appears to be blazing. Just look at that jaw dropping swath of powder blue and the magenta rims. A one of a kind beauty. Please share better photos if you can.
Yeah that green made me think it looked like someone took a set of pool balls, stuck em in a blender :hammer:and dumped it on this coin:stooge:. The reverse is nice. Still no better obverse photo?
