I thought some of you would like to see a few more of my detecting finds: The 1877 50 Pfennig coin (mintmark D) was found last weekend in my "favourite" woods, which has thus far yielded a total of 8 Silver (including the Trajan denarius i posted here a few weeks ago). This coin needed NO cleaning at all. The 1/3 Taler of Prussia i found in a differents forest, a couple of months ago. It was heavily encrusted but cleaned up very nice. I found it literally almost stepping out of the car and walking a few meters into the woods. The signal was so loud it almost blew my ears off. Is is Mintmark E, minted at Koenigsberg in what is now Poland. Lastly, the Nassau 3 Kreuzer coin dated 1809. This is a coin i found almost ten years ago, and is an extremely rare coin. It is in exceptional condition, but unfortunately just a few days after it was retrieved, the flan started to crack and separate - you can see this in the photo. This was a real dissapoinent as i collect coins of Nassau, and i know how rare this piece is. I have not seen any at auction in as good shape as this one in more than 10 years (were it not for the crack....). I hope you enjoy. Eduard

Well, not every day is a good detecting day. Was out in the bitter cold for 3 hours today - found close to nothing
I completely understand...I was outside for a couple of hours today and found some promising spots, but the ground was too hard/cold to dig And I only get to come here maybe once a year if I'm lucky. Hopefully next trip will be in the summer.
