Almost certainly true! I have a 50g capacity scale (calibrating to that level) which has 3 decimal places on the readout. It's surprisingly consistent (& hopefully accurate, but who knows), even to the third place. Unfortunately I can't use it for heavy coins like the octobol.

Not as far as I know - you're still clinging on to that 10th spot.

 

Not only that, it has to be a Ptolemaic octobol. But that's an awesome coin, why not start a CoinTalk Leaderboard for heaviest cast coin? Better rule out @rrdenarius's humongous cast bars though or he'll take all 10 spots!

I don’t have many coins, but octobols are something of a passion of mine because I can enjoy them without glasses. Mine weigh 84.55, 87.208 (not my weight, extra points if you can guess the seller), 87.63 (I wrote about this bronze diseased beauty a while back), 89.64, 93.84, 94.44, and the heaviest:

 

Ding ding ding, step onto the podium! (So long, @Paul M. ) Since I'm keeper of the list, I will institute a rule whereby each collector can only have one (obviously their heaviest one) on the list. So as not to encourage the inappropriate hogging of octobols. (Not judging you, @Silverlock, you have good reasons! )

I've also kept Doug on the list by creating honourable mentions for owners of 90+ g octobols. And again because I am list Czar, I get to use Canadian spelling.

Speaking of spelling, I really wasn't sure whether to use "oktobol" or "octobol." I mean, they're Greek coins so the former is probably more appropriate, but I decided I liked the look of the Latin version better.

 

I have some large cast bronze pieces, but the largest is now a scale weight at 12 US #.
