The other day I posted a couple of Devil Tokens and I was the only one who seemed to have any. That's fine by me as I collect pictorial Tokens and not too many collectors collect the same as I do. So as I was cruising the bay today I came across this unusual Token that looks a bit odd! Anyone care to say what is going on with the Dragon tongue if that's what it is and what's that thingy under the devil? Just sharing an odd Token! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1739-Admir...807732?hash=item5b7d18e634:g:bP4AAOSwzUZfXr5B
I found this link. https://collections.rmg.co.uk/collections/objects/38339.html It states that the devil is the reverse side. Reverse: The devil leading Sir Robert Walpole by a rope round the neck towards the open mouth of an infernal beast. Legend: 'MAKE : ROOM : FOR : SIR : ROBERT.' Exergue: 'NO : EXCISE.'
Just to get things straight for you at the onset: That is the devil's right leg stepping into hell that you are seeing there! You can get more information about the medal at Numista.
Okay, now I get it! All I was seeing was a Dragon with a hand for a tongue grabbing the devil and, the rest is X rated! Must be rare, I collect pictorials but not this kind! Very pricey!
