1972 penny 2 s

i dont think there were any sml or lg dates in 1972 but would some of the experts please explain why all three 2 s in the photo look different thanks just wondering

You've got to keep in mind that the dies strike thousands and thousands of planchets and need to be replaced from time to time. The dies also wear out and produce different stages of die life, so some variations are expected to occur.
