IMG_20200919_055552.jpg Ok, my usual crummy pic's:(
I bought 10 Mercury dimes and the seller again sent a couple extra,:) with one being a Barber!
Seeing that most Barber coins in general wear out bad I was happy to see this one being decent.
Can anyone guess from these pic's. Again the face lines are crisper in person. IMG_20200919_055535.jpg IMG_20200919_055606.jpg IMG_20200919_055606.jpg

Thanks, I was thinking also VF but maby a bit higher on the numbers.
Was it the very weak Liberty head band that was the biggest issue?

I'd call it VG, maybe F.. I think VF is a bit generous.

I don't see enough of LIBERTY for a VG.

Based on my study of Photograde, VG is the best I can go because I don't see any of the lettering in the headband. Maybe with better pix. Do I agree with spark and halfcent.

VG. Headband wear eliminates F consideration.

I believe you are correct. I was being generous calling it a VG.

VG is a solid estimate in light of evident wear and photo quality.

The Liberty is very very weak and I can only kind of make the "rty" part.
It is strong at some places like the the lettering and all around has strong rims, obverse and reverse and the face is some what nice.
Looking at CoinStudy.com I see a some strong F details but also some in the strong G range.
These Barbers sure wear out weird compared to others I think. I only have maby 5 Barber's, a couple 1/2's a couple quarter's and this one, and it's the nicest of them of the few I do have.

Barber's were workhorse coins. they heavily circulated. I once put together a set of Barber halves in VG/F and some of those dates in lower mid grade were nearly impossible to find.
A lot of them I could find an AG and VF but everything in between was tough.

I spaced it out that it was a freebie and was the biggest basis for the thread:eek:
