What’s the question? There is barely any toning - and what is there is spottled (textile) and all the same yellow/gold color. That just is not really appealing to my eye. When I think of a “toner” I think of a coin that has more than a monotone golden hue. To each his own. I know this one is “named” on the Jhon E Cash site - it’s just not impressive to me. (shrug)
Is it time for one of your melt downs again? Let me rephrase my comments - if it were NOT for the little blotches of textile toning on that coin, I don’t see how anyone would give it more than a 2.5. It’s just yellowish/brown. That’s not an appealing toner combination. Most here seem to give it a boost for the textile toning - I don’t; in the case of this coin it is a detriment to my taste.
I am referring to the Jhon E Cash site for examples of scoring. You basically have a monochromatic example of the coin below. The more colorful coin below was given a 1.0 score. So tell me again, how is a single toned yellow/gold colored textile toner exciting if you take away the textile? Some of the people here griping about what score other people assign to coins need to revisit the guide we are being told to use and the example coins in that guide.
It is a detriment to your taste? Like your taste is particularly sacrosanct? We will never agree, nor be on the same page, so I shall not waste my time commenting upon your numismatic effluent. Ignore list is the most practical solution for horse-dude, as he likes no coin but his own.
Does that conclude your weekly meltdown? My taste is my taste...I am entitled to it. Stop playing victim, and let people have their opinions. By the way, if you look at all of the toners listed at the top of the JEC page I linked, this yellow speckled one you posted stands out as not belonging. It is textile, and that is about all it has. I’m trying to be objective here in that regard, as you seem to be emotionally attached to this coin for some reason.
I will give it what it deserves. 4.0. It isn’t just my subjective judgement; it is supposed to be based upon a rubric.
You are a pompous know-it-all jackass. You happy now, that we’ve gotten down to name-calling over a coin? Talk about immature. You’ve been the contrarian since day one. No coin meets your standards, unless you own it.
I call it like I see it. You want to continue an unproductive argument, or try to be positive about an exercise that could be productive and educational? I am willing to take the high road, but don’t need insults from a numismatic dilettante.
I made no insults to you. I gave my opinion of a coin that you probably don’t even own. And you reverted to name calling and your apparent weekly meltdown. If that’s your definition of “high road” then wow!
“My apparent weekly meltdown.” Very mature there. Only reinforces your holier than thou attitude, and numismatic incompetence. You threw a pout when you posted a coin with ugly dark toning, and were scored accordingly. Since then, you have been purposefully pejorative with your scoring ever since. So, I guess high road is impossible with you. So be it.
