PCGS: MS64 FBL I don't know what that is in the hairline, but it could drop the grade even further. It definitely doesn't have the look of a gem which is what you would need to be worth having it graded. What do you think @Springford CC ?
It looks to already be PCGS graded. You are correct that these aren't worth grading if the coin is below a 65 FBL since 64 FBL examples can be purchased in the $24-$45 range on eBay.
That's a tough one. I may be seeing marks on the slab and not the coin, so it makes "guessing" the grade really difficult for me. That and the fact I'm not a Franklin collector, I'd "guess," and it's just that, a guess, MS63. As for the FBL, I can't tell if it is a weak strike or just the photos, so no guess.
@Lehigh96 had me thoughts down exactly. I really want to now what's going on in the hair. 64FBL (it wouldn't be FBL at NGC though)
Reveal! To answer @Lehigh96 and @Beefer518 that mess just behind his temple that you are referring to is actually just some slight toning that the light/camera caught strangely. No smudge or wear there.
Only cause you guessed PCGS. Lol. Honestly, i could barely make out the weak upper lines. But guessed that the TPG didn't put a loupe on it.
