The bumps on the reverse have me cautious. I need an expert opinion. The seller is reputable and highly rated.
I am not an expert, but I have captured these AE's from reputable Dealers over the years. This means basically nothing on eBay. I wouldn't recommend shopping for ancients outside the $15-$20 price range on there unless you can authenticate them yourself. There are plenty of good sellers there but there are also plenty of fakesellers and plenty of people who may know modern coins but really have no business selling ancients.
it's 1000% cast. it's one of those from 10 miles I can see as fake! Also a friendly suggestion, if you can't see this as fake you better stay away from ancient coins. Just my 2 cents!
I'm don't think you'd need to go to that extreme. Everyone started off not being able to recognize fakes. It just takes practice and a lot of reading up about the different methods of making fakes and what some of the telltale signs are. For most of us, it takes many years of experience before we are competent in and confident of our ability to spot fakes. In the mean time, just deal with trustworthy ancient coin dealers if you are looking for higher-end coins. There are many reputable dealers who will stand by their product.
All I mean is better someone gain the experience first and at least be able to get 70% of fakes before start to buy. otherwise he will get lots of fakes and lose money
