This is a circulated coin in decent condition.. But, if I may, I'm going to use it for a learning example.. The lighter pictures show more of what I am talking about here.. On the obverse, the date and mintmark look doubled to me.. And it looks like President Lincoln's Jacket is outlined on the left side?? Is this an example of a coin being struck more to one side or struck twice?? GOD appears to be lower than the rest of the phrase, as though it stopped at an imaginary rim.. The L in Liberty is on the rim and BER looks doubled.. Is this Die Abrasion?? Is the obverse doubled or just die deterioraton.. On the reverse, ONE and the CE in CENT looks doubled.. United States appears to be from a stronger strike.. But the rest of the reverse looks like a weaker strike with possible doubling.. Or is this die abrasion.. Sorry for all the questions.. An I remotely close to anything I pointed out being correct.. I know that's a lot of questions, but I'm seriously having trouble understanding some of the things I need to know.. In my 35 Years of collecting Mint Errors and a few Varieties this is why I don't bother looking for anything Doubled Die.. Not worth it IMHO.

Most of what you will find is Die Deterioration aka worn die strikes. You will find this issue on thousands of coins.

Looks like everything you mentioned was caused by a worn die.

I don’t see any doubling. 58 years...more than likely all ddo/ddr varieties have been found an cataloged. This is why you go to Variety Vista or Wexler to match the doubling if you can. And post clear, in-focus close-ups of where the doubling is on the coin so members can assess properly.

Worn die strikes can mimic doubling and can fool the untrained eye...Spark

Yes, I'm definitely an untrained eye.. I have been reading for hours about die varieties.. if nothing else on this coin, I thought someone would see the mintmark error.. it has something under it.. but Okay.. I always appreciate the advice.. TY

I can see the repunched mint mark. Not sure collectors put a high value on that.

Breen mentions multiple minor doubled die varieties for the Philadelphia cent, but no mention of that for the Denver mint. Your cent is Breen #2239 attribution. Total mintage of 1,793,148,400.

Yes to the RPM...and maybe not “high” value, but definitely a premium.

All RPM people...tell Candice what her rpm might fetch if she found someone to buy it (because, honestly, I have no idea). But there are thousands of rpm collectors out there and they would be interested, and hopefully be able to give you some good news.

Candice, one last word...the Mint stopped hand- punching mint marks into working dies in 1989. That is the year the rpm/mintmark music died (ref. Don McLean/American Pie).
...Spark. (See what I did there?)
