    Folks,

    Still going through a bunch of family "hareloom" stuff and I ran across a pretty wide variety of old (and some not so old) bank notes. A bit of it is US, but there is a pretty wide representation across the globe, and across the decades / centuries.

    I don't post much in this section and I'm not sure where to start, but here is an interesting one. Let me know if you would like to see more. I promise, most won't disappoint. I also apologize for the photos. I took these very quickly in the basement this morning.

    A lot of the following aren't in really pristine condition, but my Dad and Grandmother seemed to like them and wanted to keep them around.

    Again, sorry for the poor photos. I can take better this evening if needed.

    For the guys who like "interesting" serial numbers . . . . . .

    There are a bunch more. Some Canadian, more US, other countries. This is all I got photos of this morning.

    No wait, one more. Can you identify the nation that printed this? This one is fairly modern . . . . . .

    @ZoidMeister

    How was it that your family got interested in currency?

    My aunt got me started on collecting when I was 5 (1948). She gave me an 1885 nickel. She was Treasurer of a big company. Just before WW II a company in Germany gave them an order and a down payment with a 100,000 Mark Note. With WW II the order was cancelled and, of course, the note was no good. She had taken it out of the vault and gave it to me. I collect mostly US coins. My little brother collects a lot of German stuff. I gave that note to him.

    I have one surviving Aunt on my Dad's side of the family. That is where most of this came from. I'll give her a call on my way home from work today to see if she can shed some light on that.

    I know that @Mountain Man is interested in these, how about a Military Payment Certificate . . . . .

    I think this one is fairly common . . . .

    In 1962 the USAF gave me a check for 40 cents. I still have it. I may dig it out and post it.
