Not too quickly, look at the situation with Food Stamps - legal to own, collect etc but not on fleaBay.
Wasn't that because people were selling their current food stamps for cash in order to buy liquor and street drugs, for just their own personal use? Children were still not getting food and clothing as the stamps were designed to supply. This doesn't stop sales completely but it does make it a little bit harder.
I had some guy approach me one time I was walking my dog, offered me $10 in food stamps for $5 - like I would be caught dead using those if I didn't have to.
Back in the day, you get a food stamp, go buy a 5 cent Bazooka Joe gum, get 95 cents cash back. Whatcha know about that
Interesting article. I am currently searching for a coin from every nation and territory (where applicable) and I was wondering why I can't find coins from Cuba for sale at eBay. This law is antiquated! I must have a coin from Cuba to complete my coin per nation/territory set. Where can I get one?
The Ebay prohibition of the sale of Cuban coins is solely an Ebay corporate decision dating from 2013. It applies to all Cuban coins regardless of place of manufacture or date on the coin. Coin shows are good places to find Cuban coins.
Thank you, both, for your suggestions. Apparently, mashops and vcoins has dealers offering some of the rare certified Cuban coins from 1915. I also sent a private message to one of the dealers who participated on this thread asking if he has any common examples for sale.
Yeah I don't buy it sell on eBay, yet, just something I heard. BTW who cares about PayPal now that everyone is being forced to use that other service?
Ha, that would be fun to find one in a bank roll. I once found a 1 cent coin from the Bahamas while searching a bank roll of cents, but I never saw any coins from Cuba in any rolls. Maybe I should take your advice and get a bunch of rolls from the bank.
I guess it would depend on where you live. If you live in Florida or Texas, it would make sense that you'd see a few Cuban or Mexican coins occasionally. Where I live (NE Ohio) it is common to see an occasional Canadian coin in cent or nickel rolls, although since Canada dropped the one cent coin we don't see them nearly as often.
Does PayPal still follow eBay's rules on this? It's silly, arbitrary, and not in accordance with current government policies as I recall. Now that eBay and PP are not the same company will they still enforce it if you buy a Cuban coin from an online store.
