    BTW, I posted this coin simply because when I saw it, it just stood out as the height of artistry and elegance. Such fine delicate details and this example is WORN. They just dont make coins of this caliber anymore. The skill with working metal is mind-blowing but then again, I could post a coin a day that show this level of skill. I have such respect for those who crafted dies like these...with the tools they had at the time...I am in awe.

    The Syracuse Greek coins are indeed mindblowing. My dream coin is one signed by one of the great celators. I agree that nothing since has approached the artistry that was brought to bear on those issues, except perhaps other Greek domains.

    Until you win the lottery, be on the look out for small bronzes signed by the same engravers.
