    Hey there Nickel Crew,
Is anyone out there hearing what the new Jefferson Nickel varieties are going to be added to the Cherry Pickers Guide? I was on the CONECA web site and saw a couple coins with the new Fivaz-Stanton number on them. Not sure if this was on purpose or someone slipped and posted the numbers early? Here are the two I saw, we'll see if they are actually in the book when it comes out soon?
    1) 1958-D / Inverted D (RPM-5)
    2) 2005-P DDO-001 (Bison Satin Finish)
    Anybody know anything else?

Haven't heard although I have always been disappointed with the meager Jefferson Nickel section in the Cherry Pickers Guides :headbang: so adding a couple won't change my feelings much.
    Thanks for the update though.

    nickelman,
I agree with your "head-banger" dude in your reply! Disappointing there are so few, then on top of that, some of them that are listed have no business being in there! Like the 1941-D RPM#3, 1963 TDR and the 1964-D RPM#5. Lisitng varieties in the Cherry Pickers Guide implies they are a "Major" variety. Oh well, I keep varieties when I find them, no matter how major or minor. A tough one I'm still trying to find is the 1943-P RPM#1. Any help out there?

Good!! I'm working on getting a nice grade coin of each of the varieties listed in the Jeff. Nickel part of the CP guide. A few more would be great!

It is hard to work on nickels around here as the dealers don't have much call for them...or so they think. I'm having to do most of my hunting online.

I have the new edition pre-ordered from Amazon, and just checked again, but it is still down as being shipped 1/5/09.

    Frank,

Yeah, most folks remember what happened with the release of Volume II! They took orders saying pretty much the same thing and if my memory serves me correctly, everyone had to wait well over a year to get their' copy. Some folks were able to cancel their orders and some weren't able to do so. I decided to wait, which was for the best, as most of the Suppliers received there orders first. I purchased mine from a local Coin Dealer that had ordered from a Supplier and actually got my copy well before most of the folks that ordered their's from Whitman!

    Frank:
Yes, I remember, and JT apologized, he was in a rehab.

But, now it (Cherrypickers) is being done by Whitman.

So, the problem shouldn't be repeated, since they do not announce until the book is at the printers and ready to roll.

    Hey Nickel Crew,
If you have not ordered the book yet and have the 4th Edition, you should not purchase the 5th Edition. They only added one new listing, 1941-S RPM#2, which is one of the Large S varieties. What is even more pathetic is they did not even include a picture of what one looks like! We all should send them an email telling them how disappointed we all are. Only if you care to. Just expressing my disappointment.

Thanks for the heads up--I'll try to get that page updated on my site. Oh so much to do and no time...
