All Morgan and Peace dollars are Vam's. It's the definition of which die pairs were used for the strike. Known die markers etc. on the coin guide you to attributing it with a Vam number

Thank you. I looked on VamWorld for a last t in trust that connected to the wing and did not find any.

It looks like damage to me. Something hit the base of the letter and pushed it slightly to the right.

I agree with Chris. It looks like PMD as it appears to be moved from left to right.

Damage. Trauma can move design elements around a little, and wear can make it look like it was supposed to be that way.

I like this type of dialogue when the heavyweights weigh in and explain. I have a kind of dumb question, looking at that VamWorld chart it says [IMG] 1882-P VAM-41 Doubled 2 & Phrygian Cap [IMG] *New 2019* what they just found this in 2019 and its been there from 1882 how does this get by after all those years.. that eagle still moves not dead..

Usually, if nobody's looking for it, it won't be noticed. Remember also that for most uncirculated Morgans, they weren't "in the wild" until the 1960s. The 82 VAM 41 is very minor and like most other VAMs discovered in recent years, its discovery is a result of not finding a match to those already cataloged. If you want to see something that's been "hiding" that makes you wonder how it slipped by, take a look at 84-O VAM 56A, found early this year.

Does all the major TPGs currently attribute all of the VAMs on the list.

No. Only ANACS (and ICG, if you count them as major). My service, Variety Slabbing Service, which doesn't do grading, will also attribute them all.

Post Mint Damage. It occurred after the coin was struck and left the mint.
