I've just purchased an 1883 authentic gold plated racketeer nickel off ebay!

If I could get clear cut-non technical instructions of how to make images on my digital camera go to the computer and then to this web site then I would post pictures.

Fine then, a video of you trying to blend the slab in a blender.

You need to use the macro setting on your camera. This is a setting for close up photos. You must hold the camera very still. I typically take a dozen or so pictures with this setting an upload them...then pick the best one. All cameras are a little different in turning on macro. I suggest you consult your camera's manual...it will be in there as this is a very common feature. If you don't have a manual, you should be able to download one from the manufacture's web site.

Just download the pics to your computer and host them in a site like photobucket. That's what I do.

4chan method: Scribble "Sup cointalk.org/12/19/08" on a piece of paper, photograph what you want next to it, upload pic, one of us can confirm via the EXIF data in the pic imputed by the camera that both the paper in pic and EXIF data correlate.

    Like thus:

(Best I can do on short notice. 1851 Gold Dollar turned into a ring that I have. Paid $100 for it as one of my first coin jewelry purchases; sorta regretting it now that i'm focused on Hawaiian Coin Jewelry)

There's only one more dirt cheap SGS coin that I would want to bid on, which ends relatively soon. If I win I'll post photos and the link.

You could post a link before the auction ends, that way we can give you feedback on the coin and the price. There's no need to worry about one of us trying to outbid you as I highly doubt that would happen.

I would send the coin back and look for a real rackteer nickel. One that has part of the reverse removed to look like a real gold piece as well as worked done to the rim.

That is IMO the single most beautiful commem of them all, both early and modern. In Proof it is drop dead gorgeous !

And saints preserve us, but it may actually be possible that SGS finally got 1 right

So, do you think my current bid, if I am to win it, is reasonable?

ok, here's the problem Isaiah. Nowhere do I see on that link something that says, "the coin pictured here is the one you will receive", or something like that. I would be very wary that Abon will send you a different coin than the one pictured. Several of his other auctions contain that phrase, so the fact that this is lacking it makes me suspicious. Abon is known for using stock photos...another one of his deceptive practices.

    take care,
    John

at least they have a return policy, which I shall not fail to utilize if I am not 100% happy with the coin.
