I can see sort of what you guys mean when you are calling it a F based on the obverse, but there is no way in heck it is a F coin based on that reverse, lol. That reverse is way to nice IMHO, (and I could very well be wrong ) for it to only warrant a F grade. I could go maybe with a 30, but a F?

    *Disclaimer*

Phoenix could be very well wrong with his opinion, and if he is, oh well, lol. We're all here to learn.

I am going to say EF-40BN!

Jack...I hope you don't mind but I edited and cropped the pictures and have attached them to this post! I think that they better show how good the coin really is!

    What do you think now?

I agree with Harry at a VF-30 bn. I have a VF-25 in an ANACS slab, and the overall detail is a hair better than mine I believe from the pics. If its pcgs, it might go VF-25, but I think ANACS would have given it a 30.

    My grade F15, PCGS VF25.

And Phoenix, all coins are graded by their worst side regardless of how nice the other side is. That said, the TPG's will commonly bump 1 grade for high dollar coins where 1 side is nicer than the other.

Sorry Harry, but just because the coin on the left is graded VF25 does not mean it is a VF25(no matter who graded it). And yes Jacks coin is much better than the one on the left. But the one on the left would get a VG from me. Key date or not.

I think it shows the seperation alot better than my pic !!

Here is the tag on the coin. Personally, I would have called it a 25 or " choice vf", a 30 is acceptable.

Wow! I really feel they messed up on this one. I feel VF 25 would be stretching it I could definitely convince myself its a VF 20 though.

The 30 does not really surprise me. For a VF coin, that looked about as clean as I have seen.

Harry, I have no idea how that coin of yours got a 25. I would like to see the back. There has got to be something i am missing on that one.

That at least explains some of it. That is a nice back. Is that front a weak strike?

I am a lousy typist. It is easier to type front than obverse etc.
