What that is ,they call it an end roll coin since only one side is toned. The coin was in a wrapper the first coin . I have a kennedy halve and the obverse is only toned nice one Jello Jazzcoins Joe
I don't think that one got toned in a roll. Question though, what kind of album and were both sides exposed to view ? If not, which side was exposed ?
My guess would be a whitman folding album. The reverse would be against that paper for a while and that could tone it I would think.
Well it's very possible the coin was toned before he put it in the folder. The coin has toning on the reverse, usually you put the obverse facing up to show the date so the obverse should be toned instead That's why i think it was an end roll coin just speculation . Jazzcoins Joe
Better lighting may make those colors jump out. I have a merc that looks lavender in person, but photos always show as maroon/brown (yes, that one).
