    Isaiah,

You are apparently seeing something on the coin that we do not see and is not there! Remember, you are viewing a photo of a coin and you are seeing the coin through the plastic of a 2x2 which has dirt, lint and other debris inside and out. If North49Guy has not sent the coin of for certification and grading yet and it is not too much trouble, I hope that he will remove the coin from the 2x2 and take some pictures to post here (hopefully without the Red in the background)!

That'd be great, I'd love to see better photos.

I haven't posted here lately, but your response, Isaiah, is hillarious. The coin is definiely authentic. Look at the VDB- the B is on a slant which is a sign of authenticity. The only thing about the coin that could be suspect is whether it is recolored, but that could be the lighting. It has not been chemically cleaned as the cartwheel luster is full. Isaiah read all of the posts in response to yours. Your conclusion is totally unfounded. North49guy should send to PCGS and upon return title the posts: "Isaiah's Chinese Counterfeit Conspiracies". Both NGC and PCGS seem to be grading conservatively lately and it looks possibly a 66 RD, but will probably be a 65 and if the grader is in a bad mood a 64 RD- Just MHO's

Great but in the mean time, can you carefully take the coin out of the 2x2 and take some more pictures to post here! Also, please insure that whatever caused the pinkish coloring in the original pics (apparently something red that is above the coin and possibly above the Camera's lense), is not there when you take the new pictures.

I think that new pictures of the coin outside of the 2x2, will dispell any counterfeit beliefs or theories!

Some grading services won't accept coins in stapled 2x2's and require mylar flips with no staples only.

I would not in the least worry about the "counterfeit beliefs or theories" being expounded by someone who believe what SGS is trying to tell him.

Ok so it is in a mylar but you say tape instead of staples when submitting? Also what is the best light to take a picture with because that was just a regular everyday lightbulb and nothing red was in the room around it. Thanks guys

When submitting usually mylar only, no 2x2's with no staples. No tape. Check with the grading service. Lighting depends on your camera. Most newer cameras have incandescent (normal light bulb), fluorescent (the usually long fluorescent lights), and daylight settings (sunlight). If your camera doesn't have fluorescent or incandescent settings take your photo during the day try it near a window and away from the window. Also use macro setting (close up) if your camera has them.

    And Nice coin!!!

Maybe the red was coming from the Camera's Auto "Light Measuring" Device! I am not that knowledgeable about Digital Camera settings but I think there is a way to turn the feature off. However, by using the correct lighting settings on the Camera for the lighting that you are using, may keep it from coming on when you take the pictures. Also, I have noticed that with my' Camera, if I hold the button halfway down to allow the Camera to focus and measure the lighting first before pressing the button all the way down to actually take the picture, then the red light has done it's thing and goes off before the picture is taken, thus it does not effect the subject in the picture.

What is the difference between a mylar and a 2x2. I got mine from whitman and they say it is mylar.

    North49guy,

The cardboard 2x2 does have a mylar clear insert that protects the coin from "direct" contact with the cardboard. The Mylar 2x2 are the flips that have no cardboard. They are stiff and harder plastic than the soft vinyl flips.

Most TPG request a 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 mylar type of flip for submission. The coin is inserted in one pocket and a specific notation written on an insert and put into the second pocket and then folded to keep them inside.

Read the instructions for the specific TPG. It may also pay to join one of the "collector's club" category of the TPG to allow direct submission for you and also some type of rebate or free submissions for a price.

You can purchase the mylar flips from most Coin Shops, on eBay or from an online Coin Supplier!

Please post some pics of the coin outside of the 2x2 before you send it off!!!!!!!!

When I joined the PCGS club, they sent the flips in the introductory package along with the other info and forms.

They can be bought from any coin supply dealers. I used JP's corner last month and was very happy with them. There are others that may be better for Canada.

I use the 2 1/2 size for dollar and large coins as well. The mylar and other stiff plastics can rub the coin if it is a tight fit.

I still maintain it's counterfeit. The only thing that could convince me otherwise is a well documented pedigree or amazingly clear photos in prime lighting conditions that could prove me wrong.

    Isaiah,

Could you post "the pictures below" (per your earlier post) and mark up the OP pic so we have a clue what you are talking about.
