Less than 10% of the total mintage has been sold on eBay. There are currently under 1,000 at auction or buy it now.
Most are now in collections and they're not coming out for minimal dollars.

Well, it's more than five months later, we're now reaching the end of August 2020, and the lowest recent sales on The Bay for PCGS PF 70s are $1800 and up.

2021 is around the corner and $300 seems a long, long place away to me . . . a place I think we are never going to reach. As for reaching bullion prices as per desertgem . . . I really can only LOL. I'll come back in early 2021 and we'll see what things look like then.

Someone really just has to have 0 understanding of the coin market to predict that could would ever go to melt. You could bend it and drill a hole in it and still get more than melt easily. You really have to be completely uneducated about coins since ASEs in any shape or form rarely if ever sell for melt, even the pure bullion ones have a small premium.

I sold mine for a tidy profit but I'm sure in the future will wish I had hung on to it.

Take the profit, run and don't look back.

I sold all my euphoric Congratulations ASEs back in 2017 (?) and made a tidy profit. Then the price kept dropping after all the euphoria wore off .... now I can pick them up quite cheaply again if I wanted to.

Don't think that an eagle with a mintage of 30,000 will ever be worth much less than it is today. There are only a few hundred for sale now. All the rest are being held in collections and won't be broken out for a low money ever. Time will tell.

Well, when people post predictions here about what will happen months or years in the future, how are we ever supposed to evaluate them without responding here months or years in the future? Easy to make ridiculous predictions if you know those predictions will never be held to account.

I very surprised that the price has apparently RISEN, even if it hasn't collapsed. I thought it would hold steady at best or decline maybe 10-30%.

Have you confirmed the sales prices across multiple platforms and auctions so it's not an outlier ? $1,800 seems very high...I seem to recall that raw ungradeds were under $1,000 when this thread was hot and the chances of getting a 70 were pretty good, with a 69 pretty much the floor.

Maybe....but if there's another coin released with a similar or higher mintage, ya never know. :D

What about GC, HA, etc. ?

Multiple platforms? No. But those were the LOWEST recent actual sales prices on The Bay. There were many recent sales at higher prices. I was trying to be fair.

I was just looking at this,
I'm seeing $1000-$1100 for raw average,
$1300-$1400 for unopened shipping box from the mint average
$1800-$2000 for PR70 NGC or PCGS, with PCGS low COA numbers selling higher,
    $900-$1100 for Graded PR69.

JM Bullion selling PR69 for $1400
APMEX selling PR70 for over $3000 each

I'm not going to hunt through Great Collections and the others seeing what might be happening there. I'll likely just find the lowest numbered certificates on those sites and prices will be high.

cheapest one I've seen lately on ebay that was complete with COA and box ungraded sold for $750 Cheapest on ebay i've seen for graded PR69 was $800.00, but there was a single outlier that sold for $71.00 which I'm sure was likely never completed and fulfilled as it was probably a listing error.

Heck the boxes and empty capsules alone are selling for $30+ and the certificates alone are selling for near $100 each. that's about $130 for the freakin packaging! LOL

"$1300-$1400 for unopened shipping box from the mint average" might be a nice play. Many/most of these are grading PR70.

yes, I've had mine sitting in a drawer in the shipping box since i've gotten it from the mint, but that's what they are doing basically, gambling that it might be a PR70 in the unopened box and make a nice profit so it pushes up the price a bit compared to the raw and ungraded ones.
I didn't check ANACS but PCGS Population shows
    48 lower than PR69
    3,010 PR69
    4,799 PR70

.... 60.09% chance of a PR70 from PCGS if it's purely a blind submission and it hasn't already been checked and repackaged and for sure a PR69 in there, just blind submitting...
I think if I did it right? My math skills are rusty. hahaha

    NGC shows
    22 lower than PR69
    2752 PR69
    9289 PR70

77% chance I suppose?... I don't feel confident on this one at all.... hahahaha.

those two grading companies do represent about 20K of the 30,000 total coins out there having been graded though, about 15,000 of them being PR70. I wonder what ANACS has done.... I wonder how many of the 30K have yet to be graded that are left out there. must be just a few thousand left that are still raw, maybe 5K or so.....

    Interesting.....

Well I guess it has been over a year since my last post on this thread but prices are still a risen. My few consignments to my local LCS are proof in the pudding. $1700 to $2400 for a 70 is telling me they are going to hold value. Those prices are what they are handing back.
