There seems to be an INORDINATE amount of interest in coins with potential errors by newbies on this site, and being one of the "newbies" I felt left out, until now . . . . .

I dug through my stuff and found a few coins that I thought would be worthy of pasting muster on CoinTalk. I am primarily interested in your thoughts and observations, AND what value would these coins hold on the market?

I truly don't know, and I imagine it varies by type of error, etc.

So first up is my 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar (I'll be posting more in following threads).

Error or PMD, and what value?

That looks to be an Incomplete Planchet Mint Error. Blakesley Effect can be seen opposite of the clip.
    (AKA Clipped Planchet)
Please show the edge to confirm.

Edit.. Looks to be a Double clipped planchet. I see a smaller clip above the B in LIBERTY!

That clip above the B corresponds with the clip at the LF on the reverse.

The anomaly above the "B" on the obverse, while it does line up with the anomaly on the reverse, it does not look like a clip to me. ~ Chris

Not exactly sure what the "Blakesley Effect" is (seriously). I hope these images capture what you are looking for.

Yes, those two indents align across the edge of the coin.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I figure this is worth at least $9.00, subtracting a little from melt value due to the missing silver . . . . . .

I want to offer $10 but that would break the rules lol
Seriously yes, that’s a good thing
