Hello everyone, I did a 7 hour Metal Detecting hunt at Brooklyn's McCarren Park. I haven't been there about 2 years so I took my new Minelab Vanquish 440 Detector and I did very well. 1 - Winged Liberty Head Dime (corroded ) 1 - Silver Roosevelt - 1962 3 - Silver Washington Quarters.. All 1964! Massive Clad and Cents Silver Cat Ring Misc Metal 21 - Wheat Cents!.. Shown on the left side This neat medallion that states.. Licensed Chauffeur New York Expires July 1 1923 Me and my Gatorade! @Cheech9712 5 more US silver!
Some close up pics of the miscellaneous metal.. I also found a 2nd ring. No idea what type of metal but it is corroded. A 50 Caliber Bullet Some neat Hair Pin. No info. An old American Eagle made lock. This company closed in 1975.
That is the outer ring of a bearing, it has a groove on the inside for the ball bearings and a lip on the edge for a dust seal. Nice finds you got there.
Notice there are no Nickels shown. I have my Minelab Vanquish set up on a custom discrimination setting to detect clad, copper and silver. If I don't use the discrimination setting I would have Nickels also. But the lower numbers are bottle caps, pulltabs, foil and a lot of other junk. On my next visit I will do no discrimination setting because that's where the gold could also be found!
Oh yea. I forgot.. Totals today for other coins - 25C - 81 each 10C - 72 each 1C - 69 each 1C Wheat - 21 each
I also found this Pokemon Mewtwo 23K Gold Plated Card that were given out by Burger King in 1999 Pictures from the web -
Ha! If that was decent condition, I woulda paid 10$ easily (though that's my Pokemon fanatic side speaking)! But nice finds out there!
The cat ring is neat. And of course silver is always good. Surprised the merc is so rough. And yeah the .50 cal is a surprise there
