Just wondering if anyone knows anything about Tabora Pounds. This one left to me in a will. I have done some research but looking at getting it valued for possible sale. Anyone in Australia that can help with advice?

I'm not from Australia but here are some examples for sale online, this can give an idea of the market price.

Not sure though, how much will the fact that it was made into a pendant decrease its value.

Here are more details about it:
    Composition: Gold (750)
    Weight: 7,168 g
    Diameter: 22 mm

Yours seem to be the less common variety, KM# 16.2 (right arabesque ends below first "A" of "OSTAFRIKA").
There were 6.395 minted vs 9.035 of the other variety (KM# 16.1 - right arabesque ends below "T" of "OSTAFRIKA").

German East Africa. Your coin is KM#16.2 15 rupees gold coin
    It has a mintage 0f 6,395 , .750 gold, weight 7.17 g. or 0.11728 oz.
    My 2019 Krause catalog grade/values
    F12-$750 VF20-$1,600 XF40-$2,900 MS60-$3,850 MS63-$5,000

I am not sure what your coins grade is because it has been cleaned and polished heavily so I am not sure what that will do to the grade... ??? Wait for more opinions on grade.

Do you think it’s likely it’s real not a fake as someone once suggested ?

I think it looks real, but it needs to be weighed. not sure how much extra weight was added to make a pendant ?

A first step is an xrf analysis to guarantee its gold.

If real it has been very harshly cleaned of which will bring the value down. I am not sure how far down ??? Wait for more opinions on how to sell it....
