Thanks @Pishpash. Ah Boddingtons. Brings back memories of when I lived in Manchester for a while: Man. U, Old Trafford, etc.
Soloi Stater of the city of Soloi in Cilicia. 425-400 BCE. 20-19 mm and thick. 10.84 grams. Amazon kneeling on left knee, examining bow held in both hands, quiver at left hip. Silenos head behind. Bunch of grapes, fly lower right. ΣOΛEΩN (of Soloi) Sear Greek 5600. SNG France 2 130 "465-350 BC". Levante 40 (same obverse die) "425-400 BC". Here is the link to its wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soli_(Cilicia) The label could use a better example of this type. At least it emphasizes grapes! Amazons are "in".
Here are some ideas: 1. Amo Bibere "I love to drink" or "I like to drink" 2. Denoirius Portmanteau of "denarius" and "noir" 3. Vinum Verum "Real wine" or "true wine" By the way, Google Translate is very inaccurate for Latin. If anyone else is trying to brainstorm Latin names, you'll be much better off matching nouns/adjectives by gender (masc., fem., neuter) and case (use nominative!!).
Not familiar with Hartley’s. I go back to 1947 with my beer/ale drinking when I became of legal age (18). I have never been a heavy drinker, just a relaxing pint or two at a country pub now and then - or a glass with a light meal. I especially savor the taste of malty and hoppy beer. I mostly favored Lancashire (Thwaites and Massey) and Yorkshire (John Smith’s magnet and Samuel Smith) ales and beers - and especially Theakston draught bitter and Old Peculier - my Father’s favorite.
