Owl coin

    Hi I remember seeing an anicient coin with a bug eyed owl on it when I was like 8 or something and was wondering what it is and how much they cost. (I am not an ancient collector.) :)

    190BC-55BC obv. Athena - Rich Stiles in Chelsea Michigan - XF $299 in Coinage magazine. Probably could do better elsewhere though.

    Not the owl he's referring to, most likely. You probably saw an Athenian tetradrachm, or replica thereof.

    Can you actually snag a decent genuine Tetradrachm for a couple hundred $$s? Or what's realistic for a nice one? Common one is fine, would like this basic reverse design tho..
